‘This Is The Answer Where Lukashists Take Money From’

Why do the authorities encourage alcoholism in Belarus?

I came across statistical data on alcohol costs, writes Charter97.org reader Maryja from Minsk.

The figures are calculated for each resident of the country. And these numbers are unpleasantly impressive. On average it is 50 rubles per person. Here is the answer to where the Lukashists get the money from to support their degenerates.

Fifty rubles is 5 bottles of vodka. This means that the average Belarusian drinks a bottle every week so as not to think about their hard life, captivity, and hopelessness.

Of course, this amount arises from dependent people who cannot control themselves. That’s why on the streets of cities we see unkempt, absolutely sick, sleeping people. Such people are beneficial to the state, since during the week they work hard for meager money, and starting on Friday they begin to pour alcohol into themselves.

My aunt’s husband worked as a driver all his life, so he kept sober for four days, and on Friday evening he began his feast, which ended on Saturday night, in order to pass control on Monday and be allowed to work. Uncle Mikalai has been retired for a long time and, thank God, as my Aunt Pronya says, he got blind. He does not have the opportunity to drink away his pension, so, one might say, this is a happy end to drunkenness.

But this is more of an exception to the rule. Most often, these people wander from one place of work to another, work for pennies, and drink and smoke away all these meager salaries. Not everyone lives to see retirement in such conditions.

In European countries, drunkenness is fought at all levels, from the price of alcohol to the treatment of addiction. Meanwhile, it is beneficial for Lukashists to have alcohol-dependent citizens. The agrofuhrer is interested in such people. After all, who in their right mind and sober head would support the insane dictator!
