The decision shall enter into force immediately after publication.

The agro-town of Oniskovichi in Kobrin district is no longer an agro-town - now it is a village. The corresponding decision of the Kobrin district "council of deputies" published on the National Legal Internet Portal.

The document says that the deputies decided "to refer the agro-township Onyskovichi of Horodets village council of Kobrin district to a village without changing the name of the settlement". The decision comes into force immediately after publication.

The reasons for changing the status of the settlement are not specified in the decision itself.

According to the law "On the administrative-territorial structure of the Republic of Belarus," agro-towns are considered to be "well-appointed settlements, where the production and social infrastructure is created to ensure social standards for the population living in them and residents of adjacent territories. It is likely that Onyskovichi no longer meets these criteria.

In spring, the district executive committee conducted a study of public opinion on the issue of attributing the agro-town of Onyskovichi to the village.

According to the data for 2019, 128 people lived in Onyskovichi.
