Three Belarusian Hockey Players Were Drafted By NHL Clubs

The record for the selection of Belarusians at the main talent fair was repeated.

Three Belarusian hockey players were selected by NHL clubs at the 2025 NHL Draft, reports "The Point".

Montreal secured the rights to goaltender Arseniy Radkov (third round, No. 82 overall), Utah selected forward Egor Borikov (fourth round, No. 110) and Buffalo drafted goaltender Evgeny Prokhorov (seventh round, No. 199).

For the first time in history, two Belarusian goalies were selected at the draft on the same day. In addition, the Utah and Buffalo clubs drafted Belarusian players for the first time.

Repeating the record series

After tonight, the number of drafted Belarusians in history totals 45.

This time, the record for Belarusians selected at the NHL Draft was repeated: 2025 was the tenth consecutive year that hockey players from Belarus were selected at the league's strongest talent fair.

The current streak began in 2016 and is tied with the last name of Stepan Falkovski (he was then drafted by Calgary). The previous decade lasted from 1988 to 1997.
