As unian.net reports, German Foreign Minister Johann Wadeful said this in Kiev at a joint press conference with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga.

"We want to help Ukraine to negotiate from a position of strength. When Putin speaks of peace today, it is pure mockery and mockery. His alleged willingness to negotiate is just a signboard. He wants to take over the whole of Ukraine and sow fear in Europe," Wadeful emphasized.

The German minister noted that in recent weeks Putin has further intensified his attacks on Ukraine.

He said Russia's brutality shows that it is about attacking Ukraine as a free democracy.

"You are resisting very courageously. Putin sees this and is counting on our support waning, on our attention shifting to new crises..... And that's why I'm absolutely clear: Putin will not succeed with Germany. We stand firmly on the side of Ukraine and will support you as long as it is necessary," the German foreign minister emphasized.
