Germany Promised A Triple-digit Number Of Long-range Missiles For The AFU

Deliveries will begin as early as July.
Ukraine has signed an agreement on the production of long-range missiles at the expense of German funding, the first deliveries for the AFU are expected at the end of this month. This was reported by Major General of the Bundeswehr Christian Freuding in an interview with the ZDF television channel.
According to him, the agreement between the Ukrainian industry and the Ukrainian Defense Ministry was signed recently, and the program itself was initiated at the end of May.
He said that the first long-range missiles should enter service with the AFU as early as the end of July, and subsequently "we will be talking about a large three-digit number."
Freuding added that what will significantly strengthen Ukraine's air defense and its capabilities in the coming weeks and months.
"We need weapons systems capable of penetrating deep into Russian territory and attacking warehouses, command posts, airfields and aircraft," he stressed.
Freuding added that Germany is "closely coordinating with partners" on the delivery of new medium- and long-range air defense systems to Ukraine. They have also been negotiating "for weeks" at all levels about the possible delivery to Ukraine of one or two Patriot systems, which Germany would have to buy from the United States.
