Shell casings were found near the power units.
The mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), which is at the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant seized by Russian occupants, heard shooting near the plant. The IAEA informed about it on July 13, citing the agency's head Raphael Grossi.
"An IAEA team of experts at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant in Ukraine reported hearing hundreds of small arms shots last night, the latest sign of military activity potentially threatening nuclear safety," the report said.
MAGATE called the shooting "unusual" because there was "a large number of shots that were repeated over the course of an hour, starting at 10 p.m. local time."
"While conducting a site inspection this morning, they found numerous small caliber shell casings scattered on the ground near reactor units 5 and 6. There was no evidence of broken windows or other physical damage," the international agency explained.
