Kosovo Parliament Fails 47th Attempt To Start Work

MPs can't elect a speaker.
The Assembly of partially recognized Kosovo failed to close its constituent session on Tuesday, marking the forty-seventh failed attempt by lawmakers to unblock the work.
According to the Balkan service Radio Liberty.
The events in Kosovo's parliament on Tuesday unfolded in a familiar pattern. The three largest opposition parties refused to delegate representatives to the commission that was supposed to organize a secret ballot to elect the Assembly speaker.
The idea is being promoted by the largest party, the Self-Determination Movement of the head of government Albina Kurti, which sees the secret ballot as an opportunity to unblock the speaker's appointment.
Without the appointment of the parliamentary speaker and his deputies, the Kosovo Assembly cannot complete its constituent session and begin its full work - including the appointment of governments.
