Polish Foreign Minister: It Is Better That Russia, Not Europe, Pays For Weapons For Ukraine

Russia, not European countries, should pay for American weapons for Ukraine.

Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said this after a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Brussels, PAR reports.

"I asked fellow ministers who should pay for this (American - ed.) equipment. Either European taxpayers or, in my opinion, it is better that the aggressor pays for it from frozen funds (we are talking about Russia's frozen assets - ed.)," Sikorski said.

He added that he was pleased that US President Donald Trump "came to the same conclusions that the European Union countries have already come to."

"Namely, that Putin does not want peace. It is Ukraine that agrees to an unconditional ceasefire, and the only language Putin understands is the language of pressure," the Polish foreign minister said.

Sikorski also hopes that the 50-day period before the possible imposition of U.S. sanctions is a time to increase pressure on Russia to finally come to its senses.
