For Russia, the consequences of Trump's ultimatum could be catastrophic.

US Senator Lindsey Graham reacted to Donald Trump's ultimatum to Donald Trump regarding the war in Ukraine and warned Putin against making a mistake, recalling how Iran was once severely punished for disobeying the US.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Republican Lindsey Graham's message on his social network X page.

American Senator Lindsey Graham warned that serious consequences could await Russia and its partners if Russian President Vladimir Putin does not agree to stop hostilities within the next 50 days.

The senator also advised Putin to remember what happened to Iran when Tehran refused to comply with U.S. demands.

"If Putin and others are wondering what will happen on the 51st day, I would advise them to turn to the ayatollahs. If I were a country that buys cheap Russian oil while supporting Putin's war machine, I would take President Trump at his word," the senator said, emphasizing that Russia risks unprecedented economic pressure.

Lindsey Graham thus bluntly stated that the consequences for Russia could be significant - even without a direct military strike, but in the form of harsh economic sanctions and increased duties.

I am referring to Trump's statement, which promised to impose up to 100% duties against countries buying cheap Russian oil if the fighting in Ukraine does not stop within 50 days.

According to Graham, this scenario is very reminiscent of the situation with Iran, when after the nuclear deal collapsed, the US administration dealt a serious economic blow that turned into a crisis for the country.
