The count is in the thousands.
In the war against Ukraine, the 41st Combined Arms Army of the Central Military District of the Russian Armed Forces (Central Military District of the Russian Armed Forces) is suffering catastrophic losses - thousands of dead, missing or deserting.
This data was published on Thursday, July 17, in "I Want to Live" - a project of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War (supported by the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense and the Main Intelligence Directorate). It is noted that the documents revealing the scale of losses of Russian troops in Ukraine were handed over to them by "Russians who are not indifferent to the fate of Russia".
"According to the data on the implementation of social guarantees for family members of the dead and missing servicemen of the 41st Combined Arms Army, as well as information on the initiation of criminal proceedings against unrecovered POWs (unauthorized abandonment of the unit - ed.), as of June 1, 2025 it is known about at least 8,625 dead, 10,491 missing and 7,846 deserters from the 41st Army", - commented in "Want to Live", publishing the information received.
It is noted that the basis of the 41st All-Russian Army is the 35th, 74th, 55th and 137th motorized rifle brigades, recruited in the Kemerovo, Tyumen, Novosibirsk, Sverdlovsk regions, Khakassia, Altai Krai and Tyva.
"All units are dying or continue to die near the town of Pokrovsk. The 74th Brigade from the Kemerovo region has suffered the most losses - 2,479 dead and 2,732 missing. Another 2,789 people are wanted as SDF," stressed in Want to Live, analyzing the data.
If we rely on the pre-war number of motorized rifle brigades of the RF Armed Forces (about 3,500 people), then, the Coordination Headquarters pointed out, the 74th Brigade only in the above categories, without taking into account the captured and wounded, changed two full squads.
"Approximately the same situation in the 35th brigade from the Altai region - 1,975 dead, 3,163 missing and 2,229 who escaped to the SOCH," the experts stated.
The "I Want to Live" also drew attention to the statistics on SOCH - only for one day, May 31, 42 occupants deserted, and for a week - 175, which practically corresponds to the number of half a battalion.
"Of all the deserters, 28% are contractors of Company V, recruited in prisons. This is much higher than the usual level, because the share of cons in Russian units is usually between 5% and 30%," the "Want to Live" pointed out.
