Because of the situation at the border.
Warsaw takes "extremely seriously" the incident of July 15, when a Molotov cocktail was thrown towards Poland through the fence on the border with Belarus, Polish Minister of Interior and Administration Tomasz Siemoniak said on the air of "Radio 1" on July 17.
"Without the Belarusian security services this would not have happened, and we will strongly protest," Polish news agency Wprost quoted the official. - Because Belarus is responsible for what is happening from its side, and this situation is a clear attempt at provocation, an attempt to inflame the situation."
"I discussed what happened with Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski, and we will take appropriate measures. I don't want to get ahead of myself. The Border Guard Service at the level of commissioners has already expressed a strong protest to the Belarusian side," he said.
The Minister stressed that "such situations are unacceptable." According to him, "fortunately, no one has suffered here, but the recent cases are an escalation."
"Perhaps they think that by introducing border control with Germany and Lithuania, we will abandon Belarus. We will not give up: the forces remain the same, everything works perfectly, and there are no border violations," Semoniak asserted.
At the same time, he emphasized that the border is safe: "Patrols have been strengthened, 11,000 officers and soldiers are constantly on alert. Police officers in Bialystok are also ready to go to the border in case of need."
