Lukashenko Said That He "got An Earful" From The Belarusians

The dictator again spoke of the shortage of potatoes in the country.

On July 18, Alexander Lukashenko held a conference call on the harvesting campaign, which also touched upon potato production.

- I am worried about potatoes, of course, what's happening in the fields, but I am reassured by the fact that we still have potato production, as well as beet, concentrated in individual farms, where they know how to cultivate it. Therefore, it is necessary to cultivate it so as not to ruin it," said the dictator.

Minister of Agriculture and Food Yuri Gorlov noted that if 780 thousand tons of potatoes were harvested in 2024, this year they plan to get at least a million tons.

Lukashenko noted that one should not calm down:

- Today one should not joke. We joked with potatoes last year and got an earful from the population. And we justify ourselves from the "president" to the chairman of the district executive committee. We justify that potatoes in Russia were three times more expensive, they were exported. So we should have produced so much potatoes that the domestic market would have enough potatoes to sell. This is good money for the peasants.
