Ukrainian Defense Forces have regained control over part of their positions in the Zaporizhzhya direction. This was achieved through maneuverable defense and point counterattacks. Vladyslav Voloshyn, the representative of the defense forces of the South of Ukraine, told about it on air of the TV channel "We-Ukraine".
"We have restored certain positions in some directions. In particular, near Orekhova, where our units are operating, quite successfully," Voloshyn said.

"We are conducting maneuver defense, that is, where there is an opportunity, we lure the enemy, conduct counterattacks.... Where our units are operating, they are operating quite successfully, that's why we have recovered some positions. There are a lot of them, but we not only try to hold our territory so much, but we also conduct, let's say, counterattacks, such small counter-offensives. And there are successes in this," he noted.
At the same time, the Russian side on the southern section of the front is conducting a so-called "creeping offensive," destroying Ukrainian positions and trying to advance as far as possible. Voloshyn said that the Russians are hitting our positions with guided aerial bombs and unguided aerial missiles. And the number of these strikes is increasing.
"Already then on these destroyed positions by infiltration tactics, there are one or two people, groups of such.... It's even hard to call them assault groups, but they are trying to get into these positions, to gain a foothold. But as for the pace, the pace is rather, let's say, low," Voloshin said about the tactics of the occupants.
At the time of publication of the material, the AFU General Staff and DeepState analysts did not comment on possible territorial successes of the Defense Forces in the Zaporizhzhya direction.
