Russia Pulls Up To 60,000 Military Personnel To Sumy Region

The Russian army has concentrated from 50,000 to 60,000 servicemen in one of the directions of Sumy Region. The head of the press service of the 15th mobile border detachment "Stalevyi cordon" Ivan Shevtsov reported about it on July 24 in a telethon broadcast by the TV channel "My Ukraine".

According to him, active fighting is now taking place in the areas of Khotyn and Yunakovo communities. There the occupants are trying to storm the positions of the AFU every day.

"Sumshchina should be divided into two parts. One is where active hostilities are going on now. This is the area of Khotyn and Yunakovo communities. It is there that the enemy is constantly conducting its assault actions. It is in this direction that the enemy has accumulated the largest number of personnel - about 50-60 thousand," - said Shevtsov.

The speaker said that on the other part of the state border with the Russian Federation the enemy does not conduct assault operations. However, continues constant shelling, using artillery, aviation, drones.

The summary of the General Staff of the AFU at 16.00 on July 24 says that since the beginning of the day the border settlements were subjected to shelling from the territory of the Russian Federation: Turya, Pokrovka, Korenek, Novaya Guta, Volkovka, Petrushevka in Sumy region.

In the North Slobozhansky and Kursk directions, the defense forces have repelled 14 offensives since the beginning of the day, four more clashes are still ongoing. The occupants also launched six air strikes, using seven guided aerial bombs. They carried out 180 shellings, five of which - from multiple rocket launchers, specified in the General Staff.
