RF was preparing to assassinate a combatant.
The Security Service of Ukraine has prevented the assassination of the commander of the 108th separate battalion of the AFU "Wolves of Da Vinci" Sergey Filimonov. The attempt on his life was prepared by the Russian Federal Security Service.
According to RBC-Ukraine with reference to the press service of the Security Service of Ukraine.
The Russian security service recruited a resident of the Dnepropetrovsk region, posing as SBU officers, to realize the crime.
"Agent operations "under the false flag" is a fairly new tactic for the Russian secret service," - said the SBU.
According to the case materials, during recruitment conversations, representatives of the FSB called themselves employees of the Security Service of Ukraine and set the agent tasks allegedly in the interests of the state. In this way, they dragged into the operation a member of the ATO from Kamenskoye, who sincerely believed that he was helping the SBU to neutralize an adjuster working for the Russian Federation.
According to the investigation, the man received a call from a woman who introduced herself as an SBU employee through one of the social networks. She said that the online store, where the defendant had previously ordered medical products, allegedly finances Russian troops. This information was used to accuse the Ukrainian of "high treason" and reported about the opening of a fictitious criminal case.
"In order to increase psychological pressure, representatives of the FSB sent the man a fake summons to the SBU for questioning," the report says.
After that he was offered allegedly "cooperation" with the Service in exchange for closing the case. To do this, he was sent a questionnaire for "reception in the SBU" and ordered to arrive in Kiev.
The SBU noted that the FSB handlers manipulated the Ukrainian's patriotic beliefs. He was convinced that he was helping the Ukrainian security service and expressed readiness to destroy the occupants even at the cost of his own life.
In Kiev, the figure was instructed to rent an apartment near the house where, according to the FSB, Filimonov lived, and to start surveillance of his car. A representative of the Russian secret service assured the man that the AFU commander was allegedly a "traitor" who was directing strikes on Kiev.
After one of the missile strikes on the capital, the handler convinced the figure that it was the surveillance "object" that was responsible. The agent regularly sent the curator photo reports, in particular photos of the yard and a description of the military officer's movements.
Subsequently, the figure received the coordinates of a cache on the outskirts of Kiev, where an automatic weapon was hidden. After receiving a Kalashnikov automatic weapon, the man continued surveillance, and then received an order to liquidate Filimonov.
SBU operatives detained him when he went outside with a loaded weapon. During the search, they seized a cell phone from which the figure corresponded with his FSB handler.
