Andrzej Duda thanked the border guards for protecting the country's borders.
Polish President Andrzej Duda, who will soon leave office, visited Poland's border with Belarus in Podlasie province and talked to border guards.
According to RMF24.
Duda visited border guards in Jarylówka, under the border with Belarus, and thanked them for protecting the country's borders, specifically mentioning a sergeant who was fatally shot by one of the illegal migrants last year.
Andrzej Duda also apologized to border guards "for the unpleasantness on the part of some of our fellow citizens.... sometimes irresponsible and sometimes just senseless and boorish."
It is known that Andrzej Duda, who is from the now opposition Law and Justice party, will soon hand over the post to President-elect Karol Nawrocki. He noted that he would be interested in the post of prime minister after the presidency.
