Pentagon Resumes Arms Transfers To Ukraine

Kiev will be sent additional defense weapons so that Ukrainians can protect themselves from Russian attacks. The Americans pledge to continue working to ensure a lasting peace and an end to killing, Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said.

America's system for evaluating military shipments around the world will remain in place and is an integral part of defense priorities and the "America First" policy, the department added.

Trump also spoke of a U-turn in policy toward Ukraine. In his view, the United States should send it weapons to defend itself.

"We will send weapons, we have to do that. They have to defend themselves," the US president said.
