On the night of July 9, Russians complained about a drone strike on Russian Federation and explosions that were heard in the sky over Zelenograd and Solnechnogorsk in the Moscow region, writes "Focus".
The Sheremetyevo airport near Moscow was closed due to the "Cover" plan. Meanwhile, the Russian Defense Ministry confirmed the raid by 86 drones.
Residents of the Moscow region have recorded videos from the scene in which the drone's engine can be heard as it flies over the settlement. One of the recordings, published in the Telegram channel of the Russian media outlet Mash, shows an explosion and a flash in the sky.
The rossmedia channel reported the raid at 2:52 a.m. on July 9. It was specified that UAV rattling and explosions were heard in two cities in the Moscow region. According to unspecified sources, three loud sounds were heard in Zelenograd and two in Solnechnogorsk. Meanwhile, Rosaviatsia closed Sheremetyevo airport for several hours, but it was reopened in the morning.
Zelenograd and Solnechnogorsk are settlements on the northwestern outskirts of Moscow. In 480 km - the border of Ukraine, in 15 km - the airport "Sheremetyevo". It is worth adding that Zelenograd is considered the main research and production center of Russian electronics and microelectronics.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin in Telegram confirmed the drone attack on the Russian Federation. According to the Russian official, the Defense Ministry allegedly shot down two drones that were flying toward the capital. Information about the first neutralization appeared online at 2:49, about the second - at 3:01. The official said that emergency services went to the site of the falling debris: there was no data on damage and injuries.
The Russian Defense Ministry, in turn, in the morning of July 9, said about a massive UAV raid. The agency reported the strike of 86 drones, which were all allegedly shot down. Four drones were neutralized over the Moscow region, including two near Moscow. The other eight regions over which air defense assets worked are the Kursk, Bryansk, Tula, Belgorod, Orel, Smolensk, Voronezh and Ryazan regions.
