Trump's statements may be followed by concrete actions.
U.S. President Donald Trump has begun making increasingly harsh statements about dictator Putin. It is hoped that after these statements there will be concrete actions.
This "24 Kanal" was told by ex-SBU officer Ivan Stupak, commenting on Trump's statements about Putin. According to him, everyone was counting on tough actions of the US president against the Russian dictator. At first, Trump was very cautious about Putin.
According to Stupak, Trump talked a lot about "two weeks" for Putin, but Russian missiles and drones still flew into Ukraine. The hope is that he will now finally start getting tough on Russia. Putin is not showing at all that he wants to end the war.
Despite this, it is too early to predict anything about Trump's actions against Russia. There have already been numerous times when he supposedly spoke out harder against Putin. And then nothing happened. But now there are tough signals for Putin.
"I want to believe that Trump's rhetoric has really changed. Saw a message today from Trump's clergyman Mark Burns. I assume he put a lot of effort into getting Trump to come out with a more or less normal speech. I want to believe that's what will happen," Stupak said.
