A fire went up.
On the night of August 19, drones attacked the Volgograd region of Russia en masse for several hours. An oil refinery facility came under attack, where a fire went up, writes "Focus".
Residents of Volgograd heard at least 15 sounds of explosions throughout the night. The attack on the refinery was reported by the head of the Center for Occupation Studies Petr Andryushchenko in his Telegram channel, and the details of the shelling were reported by local media.
"Volgograd. Between 01:20 and 03:40 was under attack by our UAVs. Russian air defense decided to shoot down with the roof of the hospital, but there is a hit in the refinery. There was a fire," Andryushchenko noted.
According to local media, the drone attack in Volgograd resulted in several fires: one on the roof of a medical facility and another on the territory of the refinery. Local authorities claim that the fires have risen due to falling debris from allegedly downed drones.
"In the south of the city of Volgograd, as a result of falling UAV debris, the roof of a building of one of the buildings of Hospital No. 16 and on the territory of the refinery has caught fire," Governor Bocharov said of the aftermath.
The network also showed a fire that rose in Volgograd as a result of the night attack.
The Russians were enacting Plan Cover at the local airport amid the drone attack.
There was no official confirmation of the strike on the Volgograd oil refinery at the time of publication. Other consequences of the strike on the refinery are being established.
It should be noted that the refinery in Volgograd has already been hit by drones recently. Thus, on August 14, the network reported about a massive attack on the refinery, which resulted in fires and a leak of oil products.
Data from NASA FIRMS satellite service confirmed the strike on the refinery in Volgograd. Then fires went up at locations where refining units and tanks with oil products are located.
Besides oil refinery facilities, railroad hubs in the Volgograd region are also under drone attack. Thus, on August 7, drones hit the region's railroad, which is part of the logistics of the Russian Armed Forces.
