Large-scale fires went up.
On the night of August 28, drones attacked Russia en masse: major oil refineries in the Samara region and in Russia's Krasnodar Krai came under attack. Large-scale fires have risen at the sites, with black columns of smoke engulfing the sky above the cities, "Focus" reports.
This night, drones attacked the Novokuibyshevsk refinery in the Samara region, as well as the Afip refinery in the Krasnodar region. This was reported by Russian Telegram channels.
Attack on the Novokuibyshevsk refinery
The attack on the Novokuibyshevsk refinery became known around 04:00 hours. Russians reported that the plant, which had previously been attacked by UAVs, was "blazing again." The network also showed footage of the aftermath of the attack on the enterprise.
According to the head of the Center for Occupation Studies, Petr Andryushchenko, at least 17 attack drones carried out an attack on the Novokuibyshevsk refinery.
As of 06:00 hours, local authorities had not commented in any way on the large-scale fire at the plant, Telegram channels noted.
"About 40 minutes ago, the administration of Novokuibyshevsk published a post about how to engage in the prevention of enterovirus infection," Astra Media pointed out.
Attack on Afip refinery
At around 05:00 hours, Russian channels reported an attack on the Afip refinery in Russia's Krasnodar region. A large-scale fire also rose at the site.
The network showed footage of the aftermath of the strike on the enterprise.
According to the monitoring channel Exilenova+, the attack was carried out on a gas and gas condensate co-processing unit at the Afip refinery. The channel noted that the drones had previously attacked the plant, and this time repeated the successful attack.
It should be noted that the Afip refinery is not only an industrial facility, but also an important element of Russia's military infrastructure, as previously reported by the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council, Andrei Kovalenko. It is an important hub for the supply of diesel fuel and aviation kerosene, which are used by the army.
