Thailand and Cambodia have agreed to resolve border tensions after talks held in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur. A 13-point agreement has been signed.
This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to a statement released by the Thai government in the social network X.
It is noted that the meeting of the intergovernmental committee ended with the signing of protocols aimed at de-escalating the conflict and restoring peace in the border region.
After the talks, the parties agreed on a 13-point agreement providing for the observance of the ceasefire.
"Representatives of both countries signed protocols aimed at resolving tension on the border and restoring peace in the border area," the statement said.
Reminder, earlier Thailand and Cambodia had already announced a temporary halt to the deployment of troops on the border, halted mobilization and opened emergency communication channels.
An armed standoff between Cambodia and Thailand erupted on July 24 after a shooting incident on the border that killed military personnel from both sides.
