The Russian small missile ship Vyshniy Volochek, a carrier of Kalibrs, of Project 21631 Buyan-M from the 41st brigade of missile ships and boats collided with the civilian tanker Nazan in the Temryuk Bay of the Sea of Azov. The incident occurred in early August when the vessel was trying to escape from Ukrainian drones. Despite attempts to cover up the incident, documents and photos confirming the damage to the ship were published online.

This was reported by analysts of the information and consulting company Defense Express, citing data from Russian sources. In particular, the VChK-OGPU Telegram channel close to the Russian military published a scheme of maneuvering of the Vyshny Volochok during the collision with the tanker Nazan, photos of the damage and a report by Captain 1st Rank Aleh Sardin with a detailed description of the accident.

According to the leaked report, at 3:59 a.m. on August 7, due to the detection of a group of drones in the sky, the ship was ordered to reverse course through the left side. Six minutes later, at 4:05 a.m., the Vyshny Volochk collided with the tanker Nazan on its port side. The incident was classified as an accident related to the ship's steering.

The Russian captain's report also noted deformation of the hull and hull structures of the Vyshny Volochk.
