Poland Completely Closes The Border With Belarus

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has announced the closure of the border with Belarus because of the Russian-Belarusian exercise Zapad-2025. The decision will come into effect at midnight from Thursday to Friday.

"As you know, very aggressive Russian-Belarusian maneuvers will start on Friday, very close to the Polish border. This has its own consequences. The response will be maneuvers from our side"," the Polish prime minister was quoted as saying by onet.pl.

"The purpose of these Russian-Belarusian maneuvers, in particular the Suwalki corridor, at the moment is to simulate action. We are facing an increasing number of provocations by Russia and Belarus. In this regard, we will close the border with Belarus, including railroad crossings, at midnight from Thursday to Friday," Prime Minister Donald Tusk said on Tuesday before a government meeting.

As an example of a "very aggressive provocation" by Belarus and Russia, he cited the detention of a Polish monk by Belarusian security services. 27-year-old native of Krakow Gzegorz Havel was accused of espionage for allegedly possessing secret documents on the military exercise "West-2025."

We note that the exercise "West-2025" will be held in Belarus from September 12 to 16.
